Aqua America Names New Treasurer
BRYN MAWR, Pa., Jul 11, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Aqua America Inc. (NYSE: WTR) announced the appointment of Stephen Anzaldo as treasurer.
Anzaldo, former assistant treasurer, will assume responsibility for the company's financings, cash management, payroll, and accounts payable functions and report directly to Chief Financial Officer David P. Smeltzer.
Anzaldo joined Aqua America in March 2004 as senior financial analyst and was promoted to assistant treasurer in March 2005. Prior to then, he spent 13 years at Trigen-Philadelphia Energy Corporation most recently as accounting manager.
"Steve has proven himself to be a key member of our finance team over the past three years," said Smeltzer. "His previous experience, both in and outside of the utility industry prior to joining Aqua, has been very valuable. He has been directly involved in our successful efforts to reduce debt expense and we look forward to Steve achieving similar success in his new position."
Anzaldo is a certified public accountant who earned his undergraduate degree in accounting as well as his MBA from St. Joseph's University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
