About Essential Utilities
About Aqua
When it comes to water and wastewater infrastructure, the reality is that the United States has more than 1 million miles of underground pipe, much of which is nearly a century old and in dire need of replacement. According to the American Water Works Association, it will cost an estimated $1 trillion to maintain and expand drinking water service to meet demands over the next 20 years. There is no question that upgrading water and wastewater infrastructure is a major challenge facing our country, and Aqua is proud to be leading the charge when it comes to offering a viable solution. As one of the largest publicly regulated water companies in the country, we are actively renewing and improving infrastructure through thoughtful and continuous capital investment.
Aqua currently provides wastewater and water utility services to more than 3 million people in eight states within the United States. As we continue to grow the company and operations, Aqua strives to deliver excellent customer service and give back to the communities we serve. Learn More

About Peoples
Natural gas pipelines transport more than one-fourth of the energy consumed in the U.S. Natural gas is delivered to customers through a 2.5 million-mile underground pipeline system, including 2.2 million miles of local utility distribution pipelines. Much of this pipeline is aging and needs to be upgraded or replaced, making the commitment of companies like Peoples critically important to the safety and vitality of local communities.
Natural gas is one of the cleanest, safest, and most useful energy sources available. Compared with diesel and gasoline, natural gas can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20-30%. Natural gas emits 45% less CO2 than coal and 27% less than oil. And, Natural Gas Vehicles produce 22% less greenhouse gases than diesel vehicles, and 29% less than comparable gasoline vehicles.
Peoples is dedicated to exploring and supporting the creation of new technology to reduce methane emissions. In 2016, Peoples joined 32 other natural gas utilities to launch the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Natural Gas STAR Methane Challenge Program. As a founding partner of the Methane Challenge, this program is an essential piece of our commitment to preserve the environment.
